Falkenthal Joins Communities at Washington Times as Media Migraine columnist

(San Diego) – It takes a brave woman to face up to media without the migraine. Gayle Lynn Falkenthal, APR is this woman with her new column for Communities at Washington Times.

Media Migraine will help readers navigate how to use and understand how media works, while poking fun at the media that is so prevalent in our lives. Falkenthal calls it “the first over-the-counter column approved for fast and effective relief from even your worst media-induced headache.”

The column will publish on a regular basis and cover a wide variety of topics. The legacy of the Oscar-winning film “Network” and the significance of a recent Court of Appeals ruling on citizen journalism are among the initial columns. The Media Migraine column has already received excellent reviews from both inside and outside the media. The column been shared at the Department of Defense Information School in North Carolina and in a mass communication class at Idaho State University.

Gayle Lynn Falkenthal, APR, is President of the Falcon Valley Group, a San Diego based public relations consulting firm. Falkenthal worked as an award winning broadcast editor, producer and talk host before going over to the Dark Side. Falkenthal continues to work both sides of the communications aisle as a radio talk-show host and columnist for several media outlets including the award winning political blog San Diego Rostra and Communities at Washington Times. She’s simply got too many opinions to do otherwise.

The San Diego Press Club presented Falkenthal with its Andy Mace Award for Career Excellence in Public Relations, one of just 32 individuals with this achievement. She earned both her Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio-Television and Linguistics and a Master of Science degree in Mass Communication from San Diego State University. She is an instructor at National University, San Diego, and previously taught in the School of Journalism & Media Studies at SDSU. She holds Accreditation in Public Relations, which represents the top two percent of all public relations professionals in the United States.

Per her Media Migaine bio, Falkenthal is a card-carrying Libertarian, servant to a rescued Boxer dog with his own Twitter account, and is proudly obsessed with Dancing With the Stars. She firmly believes what goes around, comes around, and you should go hard or go home.
