Bill Gore Wins Lincoln Club Endorsement in Sheriff’s Race
Impressive career track record and management skills make Gore most qualified choice

(San Diego) –San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore received the endorsement of The Lincoln Club of San Diego County for his candidacy in the race for San Diego County Sheriff.

Tom Sudberry, Chairman of the Lincoln Club’s Board of Directors, said Gore’s proven record of leadership and managerial skills qualify him as the best candidate for the job.

“Bill Gore has demonstrated his good judgment and considerable skills on the job every day for over 30 years in increasing positions of responsibility,” said Sudberry. “He has delivered on strategic objectives throughout his career, first with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and now with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.”

“Sheriff Gore is a true professional, a natural leader with experience at many levels. We cannot afford to train someone on the job. The Sheriff oversees more than 4,000 employees and must manage an annual budget of $571 million, not an easy assignment in tough economic times,” concluded Sudberry.
Since working with the Sheriff’s Department, Gore has demonstrated successful leadership and pushed for significant changes and innovations. These innovations include the creation of the multi-agency Border Crimes Initiative to attack human smuggling and drug trafficking, a Sex Crimes Investigation Unit and the Cold Case Forensic Team.

“As a pro-business organization, crime rates can greatly affect a community's economic prosperity. When crime rates are kept low, communities are more attractive to business development, creating jobs, generating revenue, and increasing available funding for programs through economic growth. This is something we are all concerned about these days,” commented the Club’s President T.J. Zane.

Zane continued, “The business community relies on law enforcement leaders to maintain a safe climate in which we can prosper, and we believe Bill Gore is the best choice at a time when the Club’s objectives are so critically important to the continued prosperity of San Diego County’s business community.”

Gore is one of four candidates running to become the County’s top law enforcement official. It is one of only four elected positions voted on countywide by all registered voters in San Diego County (along with District Attorney, Assessor/Recorder/Clerk, and Treasurer/Tax Collector).

About The Lincoln Club

The Lincoln Club of San Diego County is the only organized, business-oriented political action committee in the County that makes an impact in local elections by supporting pro-economic growth policies and candidates.

The Lincoln Club’s membership is comprised of politically like-minded and influential business and civic leaders from across the broad spectrum of the county’s diverse economy. As an influential and respected political organization, The Lincoln Club unites behind clear, focused messages that resonate within the business community; fills a void in public debate as a reasoned, pragmatic voice on business and economic issues; and avoids divisive social issues, uniting and building victories in a political marketplace overcrowded with more picket signs than actual accomplishments.
