Political Campaigning Hits New Heights This Weekend
Lincoln Club sponsors aerial banners with messages to voters on candidates & Prop D

(San Diego) – The Fall 2010 campaign season in San Diego County has seen the usual array of campaign mail, radio and television advertising, forums, forays into social media, and even a mobile billboard. Now in the final weekend before Election Day on November 2, campaigning hits new heights thanks to the Lincoln Club of San Diego County.

T.J. Zane, President & CEO of The Lincoln Club of San Diego County, says the Lincoln Club will sponsor aerial banners towed behind four aircraft throughout the weekend. The banners will urge voters to cast votes for Bill Horn and Ron Roberts in their supervisorial races; for Lorie Zapf in the District 6 San Diego City Council race; and to vote no on Proposition D, the City of San Diego half-cent sales tax measure.

Lincoln Club board chairman Tom Sudberry, a former United States Naval aviator, said, “The Lincoln Club thinks big when it comes to getting out the vote. It will be exciting to see our Lincoln Club “squadron” take to the skies to reach voters with these important messages while they are out enjoying a great weekend in San Diego.”

T.J. Zane says the aircraft will fly over the candidates’ districts, and throughout the City of San Diego with the No on Prop D message. “At this stage of the political season, it’s time to go big or go home,” said Zane. “Political campaigning doesn’t get much bigger than 1,000 feet in the air. It’s a critically important election. It shows that even the sky is not the limit for the Lincoln Club when it comes to supporting business-friendly candidates, and to opposing ill-conceived ballot measures -- like Proposition D -- that have a negative impact on the economy and our overall quality of life.”

About The Lincoln Club

The Lincoln Club of San Diego County is the only organized, business-oriented political action committee in the County that makes an impact in local elections by supporting pro-economic growth policies and candidates.

The Lincoln Club’s membership is comprised of politically like-minded and influential business and civic leaders from across the broad spectrum of the county’s diverse economy. As an influential and respected political organization, The Lincoln Club unites behind clear, focused messages that resonate within the business community; fills a void in public debate as a reasoned, pragmatic voice on business and economic issues; and avoids divisive social issues, uniting and building victories in a political marketplace overcrowded with more picket signs than actual accomplishments.
